PACIFIC BULB SOCIETY
The Pacific Bulb Society (PBS) was organized in Spring 2002 for the benefit of people who garden with bulbs. This includes both cold hardy and tender bulbs, and all the bulbs in between. By 'garden with' we also mean to include plants, shrubs, and even trees that we grow as companions to our bulbs. Membership in PBS is open to bulb lovers around the world. We welcome all to come forward to join us in the celebration of bulbs and in mastering the challenge of gardening with bulbs.
Our emphasis will be on successfully growing bulbs in our yards and gardens and in sharing our successes, and our failures too, with our fellow members. Through that sharing, we will all learn to be better bulb gardeners. Member benefits are occasional newsletters, an annual membership list, online bulb and seed exchanges (BX) through the PBS list, occasional group orders, and social events. Cost of membership is $20 US dollars for members in the United States and $25 International.
We are pleased to sponsor an Internet discussion list, the pbs list, a list available to anyone around the world interested in learning more about bulbs (or more broadly geophytes, plants with underground storage organs). The list archives can be viewed by clicking here or by using Google and entering in the search box the following: +[pbs] [search terms] site:lists.ibiblio.org
The Pacific Bulb Society List (pbs list) maintains the Pacific Bulb Society Wiki , an ever expanding educational resource. On the wiki there are pictures of bulbs, photographed by members of the list, and picturing plants grown by members and ones observed in habitat. In addition there is a lot of helpful information.
