Adonis is a genus in the Ranunculaceae family with leaves and flowers much like the genus Anemone. Many are annuals, but there are also some rhizomatous perennials.
Adonis amurensis is an Asian species found on open slopes and in scrub. It flowers in early spring and has purple sepals and yellow petals. Photos by John Lonsdale.
