Oncostema

Oncostema is a new genus in the proposed Scilla breakup located in the western Mediterranean region. This new genus is in the Hyacinthaceae family and it includes the so-called Cuban or Peruvian lilies which names do not match their origin. There are possibly as many as 10 species in this group. Bracts are large, but bracteoles are tiny. These plants are usually coarse. For more information about the proposed Scilla changes consult Julian Slade's post.
