Tigridia flammea

Tigridia flammea (syn. Rigidella flammea) is native to the pine woods of Mexico where it grows at 3000 meters. It has bright scarlet outer segments and pendulous flowers. The picture shows a scan of the illustration from "Edward's Botancal Register" vol 26 (1840), under the old name of Rigidella flammea.
