Chrysothemis friedrichsthaliana


Quick Characteristics:

Height: 20-30 cm (0.7-1 ft)
Flower Colors: yellow, orange
Climate: summer rain climate
 

Chrysothemis friedrichsthaliana is native from Honduras south to Colombia and Ecuador. The species forms a tuber that allows it to go dormant during the dry season. It is one of two species in the genus that is most commonly cultivated.

The photos below from Nhu Nguyen was taken in Panama where the plant grows in a crevice on the side of a building.
