Onira is a monotypic genus in the Iridaceae family native to southern Brazil. It is in the Tigridieae tribe. Both Goldblatt & Manning (2008), and Gérman Roitman & Alberto Castillo (in prep.) have lumped Onira in with Cypella.
Onira unguiculata is now known as Cypella unguiculata. It is very similar to Cypella aquatilis and Cypella laxa. Flowers have unusually narrow style branches, small style crests, and linear anthers.
