Nyctaginaceae

The Nyctaginaceae are a family of about 300 species in about 30 genera. It includes herbaceous plants as well as trees or lianas, most of them with a tropical or sub-tropical distribution. Some species form tuberous roots. We have tuberous species of Mirabilis on the wiki, another commonly cultivated, but not tuberous member of the family is the genus Bougainvillea.
