Asterostigma are plants in the Araceae family native to tropical and subtropical humid forests of the Central and South America. The plants produce a single leaf, followed by an inflorescence if the plant is mature and healthy. The name is from the Greek for aster (star) and stigma (a mark), refers to the star-shaped stigmas.
